Us Navy Recruiting Marine Corps

If all of America is against us staying in Iraq, Why did the armed services get over 12,000 recruits in May?
Active duty recruiting. Three of the four services exceeded their recruiting goals in May. The Army recruited 5,101 out of a goal of 5,500 (93 percent). The Navy recruited 2,709 out of a goal of 2,709 (100 percent). The Marine Corps recruited 2,225 out of a goal of 1,665 (134 percent). The Air Force recruited 2,451 out of a goal of 2,451 (100 percent).
If these kids did not want to go to Iraq, why enlist?
Sorry that some fellow conservatives did not catch my sarcasm directed towards the left.
All we high school graduate Argel, the difference of standards was a big 3.8%. Really not much of a differnce.
The military is granting more and more waivers in order to recruit. The Army has granted moral waivers for serious criminal activities such as aggravated assault, burglary and robbery. Also, a recent FBI report points out that more gang members have been recruited into the military.
In addition, the Army is allowing more high school dropouts and has loosened weight and age requirements.
As you point out, in May, the Army actually fell short of its recruiting goal despite the much larger recruiting bonuses and other incentives that it has been offering recently.
